Run To The Source (2022) - Patagonia Films
Martin Johnson embarks on his most challenging run, as he explores the connection between Black British history and the River Thames.
Martin attempts to set a new fastest known time on the 184-mile Thames Path—running from the Thames Barrier in London to the source of the river in the Cotswolds. What starts as a grueling and ambitious record-breaking attempt turns into a journey of discovery. He learns both about himself and the entangled history between Black people and the river. Martin hopes his run will encourage more diversity in the sport of trail running and inspire others to get out beyond the city and run.

To The Man In Soiled Linen (2022)
To the Man in Soiled Linen is a short film based on a poem written by nurse Miriam Barber, and adapted into a short film in collaboration with writer and director James Soldan.
Miriam initially wrote the poem after a particularly challenging shift on an understaffed and overstretched NHS ward, where she was trying to provide care for a patient whose illness made him totally unable to communicate his needs. Wanting to share the realities of a job as a nurse – the good, bad, and inbetween – Miriam brought her poem to James who transformed it into this short film, with Miriam starring as herself.
You can watch the short film as well as videos of Miriam talking about what it’s like to be a nurse here, in the Empathy Musem website.
